This will just be an email today as my computer has a virus and is at the "doctor" hopefully being restored.  I will briefly fill you in on upcoming
news and lessons and hopefully next week will be back with our usual detailed lesson document.

100 Day:
There is no school Monday due to President's Day.  So Tuesday will be our 100th Day of Kindergarten!  100 Collections are due Tuesday.
Be sure your child has practiced grouping their collection in piles of 10 and counting by 10's and piles of 5 and counting by 5's.  This is a fun way to
practice an important Kindergarten Math objective.  I can't wait to see what the children have collected. We will celebrate the day with a 100 snack
mix, 100 hidden hearts, and the completion of our 100 piece puzzle!

Healthy Body:
We will be reading a booklet called "I Can Move" and writing about "I wish I had 100..."  We will sort and graph healthy foods and
treats and measure how tall we are.  We will then compare heights and find someone shorter and taller than ourselves.  We will make Q-tip skeletons
and add our photo to the project so we remember we all have a skeleton inside us and skeletons aren't scary!  We will discuss keeping our teeth clean
and healthy.  We will also try to imitate the pop art of Andy Warhol with a painted hand art project.  Our Bible lessons for the next two weeks will
focus on the "Fruit of the Spirit" - beginning with Love.

Water Bottles:
Each child will need 2 plastic water bottles for an upcoming science project next week.  Please send in any donations ASAP.

School Wide Box Car Fun Day Wednesday March 14th:
Get your boxes and creativity out and help your child build a "Box Car" for our fun
Family Event!  Picture a large box your child can stand in and carry to "drive" through games and to a Drive-In Movie.  When my computer is
restored I will send you photos of my son and his box car from years ago so you can get some ideas.  I do have some boxes left from our Noah project
if you need them.  We hope this can be a fun family project.  It doesn't have to be elaborate - let your child paint, add some paper plate wheels and
steering wheel...Families are also invited to the event on March 14th.  We will have a parade so the kids can show off their "rides", some competition
with a Red Light Green Light Game and a Drive In Movie.  Please mark your calendars and plan on attending!

Thank you!:
Thank you for all the help and donations for our Valentine/Get Up and Move Day!  I think it was a great success.  I know my heart was
working with all that exercise and I was so impressed with all the fruit the kids were eating!
