How Children Learn
- Learning is a process that children develop
- Knowledge is built from the foundation upward
- Knowledge cannot be copied
- Learning requires a child to interact with
his/her subject; interaction requires physical
activity which in turn leads to cognitive
learning.
- Children learn from real world based experiences
much better than book based experiences.
- Piaget said "All learning has to be initiated by the child."
- A teacher can teach, but learning occurs when the child is actively engaged in
what the teacher is teaching
Mrs. Polaski's students have made the
grade! All of our student PALS
assessments and Kindergarten Standards
of Learning requirements have been
successfully achieved. All students have
been recommended for promotion to the
first grade.
