"Friends are great for emotional growth: When
children have friends they learn to see and recognize
emotions in others, as well as share their own
emotions. They figure out pretty quickly that they can’t
always be selfish or self-centered, or they will lose
friends fast. They learn how to stick up for themselves,
how to share themselves, and how to get to know other
people.
