| Welcome to Our Pond |
| Welcome to Our Pond |
"WINTER" will be an ongoing theme for this month. There will be snow and snow flake crafts, as
well as discovering frost and ice as we see what happens to water when it gets cold.
The Bible story this week is "Jonah" and this month will find us reviewing all our previous Bible
verses. Other stories this month will include "David and Goliath", "Daniel and the Lion's Den" and
"Joseph and the Coat of Many Colors".
Dinosaurs will be a mini theme when we emphasize letter "D." The children will have a chance to
make up their own dinosaur story. We will count dots on Dalmatian dogs, count dollars, trace dot to
dot, play "Duck, Duck, Goose", dance to various types of music, and learn the concept of alike and
different. We will play drums and learn "The Farmer in the Dell", "Hey Diddle, Diddle" and
"Hickory, Dickory, Dock".
We will be focusing on letter "C" with fun mixing colors, counting coins, and tasting cookies,
crackers, cream cheese, carrots, and coconut. Stories will include "The Cat in the Hat", "Be Careful
Mr. Frumble", and "A Color of His Own".
We will introduce letter "L" as the letter of the week. You will be happy to see that your child can
draw ladybugs, lizards, lions and love (hearts). We will leap like frogs and make lanterns and pretend
lemon and lime lollipops. Tasting real lollipops, lemons and limes will be fun too. We will learn the
Bible verse for February which is found in Galatians 5:14 that says "Love your neighbor as yourself ".
